Straight Line Backing

You may be asked to back your vehicle in a straight line between two rows of cones without touching or crossing over the exercise boundaries.

The key is to make sure you listen to the instructor to hear where to start, where to finish and what to do when you finish.

The following is only a SAMPLE of how you may be instructed to perform this skill.

  • Pull up and stop after your back end passes the last cone.
  • When prompted to begin, proceed to reverse through the cones while being very careful to not hit any cones.
  • When your front end passes the last cone, you may have been instructed to pull the parking brake and honk the horn.
